Life Highlights –

What you have told us about yourself these past 40 years

1972 – Dorothy and Lloyd together have two girls, Melanie Lynn (2) and Kristy Anne (8 months). However, by a previous marriage Lloyd has eight children, Stanley, Marlene, Karen, Brenda, Keith, Kevin, Timmy, and Kathy. A record of ten for the class of ’62. Dorothy worked with the Salvation Army from 1963 – 1968 when she was married. She enjoys sewing for her little ones and they have raised Siamese cats.

1982 – Dorothy has 5 Children, Melanie (12), Kristy (10, Danny (8), Debra (6), and Douglas (4). She is employed by the House of Lloyd out of Grandview, Missouri. It is a home party program selling jewelry, home gifts, décor, and Christmas toys. She was promoted to supervisor this past year but will still demonstrate a few parties a week and is open for bookings! After the death of her first husband in 1974, she married Doug Mueller. They are very involved in handicapped education, which stems from having Debra diagnosed as being born with a very rare mental retardation syndrome called Prader-Willi Syndrome. She is currently working on a degree as a Residential Maintenance Engineer. She figures in another 15 years her kids will be raised and she’ll have earned her degree. Doug is employed as a warehouseman for Lincoln Steel Division on Lincoln Northland.

2008 – Well, it is now 2008. Life certainly has a way of changing. My marriage to Doug Mueller ended in divorce and I am married to Ernie Ryan. Some classmates may recall that I was sporting an engagement ring during our senior year. That was Ernie. For whatever reason I broke off the engagement. He went his way and I went mine never realizing the some 38 years later we’d be together again, but here we are. Happier than I ever dreamed I could be or would be. My children are all grown with families of their own. I am blessed to be called “grandma” by twelve. Sadly, I lost my oldest daughter, Melanie and both of her little girls (Chelsea and Ashley) who were 9 & 7 at the time on January 1st, 2001. They lost their lives in a mobile home fire in Texas. Ernie is retired from International Paper and spends a lot of his leisure time playing golf. Me? I enjoy bowling and staying home. We live in Decatur, Alabama where the weather is wonderful most of the time and we enjoy RV-ing and boating together.
