Life Highlights –

What you have told us about yourself these past 40 years

1972 –

1982 – Mick and Linda (Hansen – LNE class of ’65) have 2 daughters, Lisa (14) and Laurel (9). He has been at Sutton Public Schools for 14 years where he teaches 7th and 8th grade history and 11th grade economics. He is also assistant track coach. He was head basketball coach for 9 years during which time Sutton won its first district Championship in almost 40 years. The school recently sponsored his 3 day trip to Washington DC with 6 students! Mick likes to read biographies, play tennis and spends lots of time with his family – playing basketball, softball, or going on picnics. He also finds time to referee varsity basketball and volleyball games.

1987 – Mick was named Educator of the Year for the Sutton Public Schools. He teaches history to the seventh and eight grades. Mick and Linda (Hansen, LNE ’65) try to spend as much time as possible with their daughters, Lisa (20) and Laurel (14). Tennis is one of their favorite sports to play.

1997 –

2002 – Linda and I have lived in Sutton for 34 years. I retired after 32.5 years as a teacher n Sutton. Linda continues to be a house painter. I now sub at the public and Christian schools. Mick runs a Christian basketball camp in the summer. Our oldest daughter, Lisa and husband James, have 3 children we love to visit and play with them on their dairy farm in Verdigre. Our youngest daughter. Laurel, teaches 3rd grade in Arlington. Her husband Chuck will return to college this year to pursue a degree in education. Laurel was fortunate to play on a team that went undefeated (only one is school history) and won the Class C State Championship in 1991. She was the captain of the super-state team. We all love to pontoon on the lake and ride our jet ski.
