Life Highlights –

What you have told us about yourself these past 40 years

1972 – Bob and Sharon Jo have two children, Robert Jr. (3 ˝) and Kimberly Jo (1 ˝). Bob enlisted in the US Navy July 15, 1062 and attended Interior Communications A&B School, Submarine Diving and Control School, Closed Circuit TV Maintenance, various electronics and US Armed Forces Institute courses, He is now an Interior Communications Technician 1st Class. He is a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion. He has toured the Far East and Viet Nam, been stationed in Hawaii, Guam, and Florida. His most interesting trip was returning to the USA aboard American President Lines SS Cleveland. At present, he is working with the Deep Submergence Rescue Team, Submarine Forces, Pacific Fleet. He says dreams of the 20th reunion when he will be retired and can attend. He hopes by then Viet Nam will be over.

1982 – Bob plans to rejoin the civilian community this August after serving 20 years in the US Navy. He has been to many countries and many states in the US. He served on a submarine rescue vessel, a destroyer tender, and a flagship for the 2nd fleet. He has gone to many service schools and has an associate degree in Applied Science and Electrical Engineering. He plans to stay in Virginia with his wife Sharon and their children, Robert Eugene (13), and Kimberly Jo (11). Bob sends his best wishes to all his former classmates and would like to share these thoughts with all of us:

“It’s been a long time since we walked the halls of Northeast and many events have come and gone, but the feeling of joy and the pleasure of those by-gone days have always had a fond place in my heart. They have been a source of strength through the heat of Viet Nam, the long periods of sea life and separation from loved ones. I sincerely believe that we may have been given a gift of uncomplicated, untroubled growth during our high school years that we shall not see again. That gift will always make me feel a kinship with those who shared the experience. Good luck and God bless you all.

1987 – Bob and Sharon have two children, Robert Eugene (18) and Kimberly Jo (16).Bob claims he’s not old enough to be a grandparent. Bob Joined the civilian world, and now works for Calculon Corporation on Tempest Security for the department of Energy, preventing unauthorized access to classified Security Information Systems. As a civilian, he spent several months in Holland teaching Dutch, English, & German engineers Tektronix Graphic Computing Systems. Bob spends his spare time “making Maryland safe for weeds….on 3.5 acres of killer grass”. He also designs computer hardware interface systems.

1997 – Shooting full automatic in my back yard range. Its great having a hobby the neighbors hate, but no one complains! Go figure! If you are in the Washington D.C. area drop in.

2002 – I’m won of the few people that since 1963 have watched Nebraska lose more football games than they have won! I guess that after watching them play under Bill Glassford, Elliott, & Jennings that shouldn’t be a big deal. What I have found living around the country and word that if it was not for Big Red most folks would not know the State exists. After spending the last 20 years in the DC area that is a very attractive position to be in.
